Apple scones

A scone is a baked good, usually made of either wheat or oatmeal with baking powder as a leavening agent, and baked on sheet pans. It is a basic component of the cream tea. Try to cook this option!

Method

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients with a whisk.
  2. Chop some of the nuts, leave some for decoration on top.
  3. Cut the apples into small pieces.
  4. Cut the chilled butter into pieces, add to the dry ingredients. Then add the buttermilk, apples and nuts. Knead the dough.
  5. Sprinkle the countertop with flour. Roll out the dough into a square, and cut out the scones. Place whole nuts on top. Lay the sliced scones on baking paper and brush with the egg and milk mixture.
  6. Bake at 374F (190C) for 25 minutes.
