Method

  1. Pour the yeast with warm water and leave for 5 minutes until the mixture begins to foam. Add milk, butter, melted and cooled to room temperature, sugar, salt, egg yolks and vanilla extract. Stir with a wooden spoon until smooth. Sift the flour in batches, stirring until all the flour has been added and the dough grabs into a ball.
  2. Cover the container with the dough with a clean towel and let it rise for 1-1.5 hours. Roll out the dough into a 45 x 35 cm rectangle, brush with melted butter and cut along the long side into strips about 2.5 cm wide. Roll the strips into rolls or spirals, put on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
  3. Cover with a towel and let it rise for an hour. Bake in a preheated oven at 356F (180C) for 12-18 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when serving.
