Can a cookie be a gourmet dessert?
Here we have crispy shortbread cookies. It’s just impossible not to fall in love with it from the first piece. The cookies disappear immediately. But enough words - just cook it!⠀
The chef had been keeping the idea of these cookies with flower decoration for a long time.
If you have Pansies or other edible flowers, then you can decorate the cookies with them to make an unusual dessert for tea. It will not leave anyone indifferent.
Cooking
- Whip the room temperatured butter with a mixer at high speed until fluffy (for 5 minutes).
- Add the sugar, and whip again. Add the egg, and whisk.
- Add salt, vanilla, ground almonds and flour, and stir briefly before combining. Wrap the dough in foil, and place it in the fridge for an hour.
- Roll the dough out on parchment to a thickness of 2-3 mm (0.15 inch). Bake the cookies in the oven preheated to 170C (338F) for about 10 to 15 minutes until slightly golden brown, and cool it completely.
If you decorate the cookies with flowers, then they should be placed on a rolled out layer of dough 3 mm (0.15 inch) thick. Then, cover the dough with parchment, and carefully roll it with a rolling pin. Then, cut out the shapes.
The better the flowers are rolled, the more beautiful they will look on the cookies.
Feel free to experiment!
Bon Appetit!
